This morning we set off for Werderholm campground north of Auckland. We got here and decided to have some lunch with some local ducks. While we were eating, all of a sudden one of our ties popped, and started to go flat. Just like that, when we were just parked there. When we looked the side of the valve stem bursted. Ugh, so Pat changed the tire and we went into town to get the tire fixed. The town we went into was one of the cutest we've seen. Orewa is a perfect seaside town, with pretty homes, and cool shops. We really liked it there. While we walked around and waited for the tire to get fixed we ran into a "traveling monk", who was telling us all the great thinks about Buddhism and kharma. Oddly enough he is from NZ, so I'm not sure what the traveling bit is about, but he was nice, got us to give him $3 for a book, that we probably wont read about enlightenment or something. Maybe we'll read it when I finish Lord of the Rings. Pat just finished all of it, and now its my turn. We then got some fish and chips and took a look at some surf boards to see what we need to know about them before we buy one. I think being surf bums will the a lof of fun, and I only wish the water was a little warmer now, but I gues it is winter here. We are going to be heading furter south tomorrow towards to Coromondal Penninsula. There are some pics of Delilah getting a new tire, and some others from today. The screen is broken on our camera, so I'm never sure how they will turn out until i go to put them on here.
Hi there! I'm Skeeter. I grew up moving a lot and that makes me a bit restless for travel and exploration. I started this blog with my husband Pat when we decided to backpack New Zealand for a year. We are always looking for the next adventure and are loving life. We're just your average couple with two sassy dogs and a love for travel. We're sharing our travels and the tips we pick up along the way.
Hello! I'm Liz. Blogging is very new to me, but I'm so excited to finally write as much as I talk!
