Pat and I are setteling in nicely in Whitianga. My new job is going great, and we are really enjoying ourselves here. My job is pretty easy, pays well, and everyone there is really nice. The weather is a little spotty though. I've posted a couple of new pics, one of a beautiful day on the beach, and another of our backyard flooded by two days of rain. We haven't been venturing much out of Whitianga lately. We are just content to hang out at the house, look at the ocean, and read some books. I've been reading Islands in the Stream by Hemmingway, and Pat is reading Dexter. Both of us have been cooking up a storm, grilled fish, homemade chili sauce, tortillas, sopapillas, and scones, yum! We are anxious to see the rest of New Zealand, but we are so happy here, that we haven't really been planning much. We are definatly going to stay here throught the winter and perhaps into the spring. We have also been following the world cup a lot, its on tv all the time here. We have also decided that Rugby is our favorite sport. We won't be able to feel the same about football again. They are also really into Netball here. Netball is a lot like basketball, but is only played by women, and it has some different rules. I can't say I feel the same about Netball though as I do about Rugby. Thanks to everyone who is still following us on our journey. It is so nice to get messages from home, and to hear how everyone is doing. We hope to some of you have an opportunity to come and visit us while we are here.
Hi there! I'm Skeeter. I grew up moving a lot and that makes me a bit restless for travel and exploration. I started this blog with my husband Pat when we decided to backpack New Zealand for a year. We are always looking for the next adventure and are loving life. We're just your average couple with two sassy dogs and a love for travel. We're sharing our travels and the tips we pick up along the way.
Hello! I'm Liz. Blogging is very new to me, but I'm so excited to finally write as much as I talk!
