Hey there Happy Travelers! I'm so excited to share this guest post with you today.
Melbourne is on our list for next Spring. Pat's sister moved there last fall, so it's the perfect excuse to visit this beautiful city. One of my favorite things about travelling is all the delicious new food to try. If you are also on your way to Melbourne soon, check out this great rundown to places you won't want to miss! Without further ado, our guest post!
There is no better place to indulge all your senses at than Melbourne. Marvellous Melbourne will leave you amazed once you get to see its sights and cultural monuments. Yes, the National Gallery of Victoria really is something you need to check out, street art at Hosier Lane is a must-see, Royal Botanic Gardens founded in 1846 are great to explore the vast nature, but there is something that only Melbourne can offer to its visitors – the food.
Melbourne is a melting pot of different cultures and you can easily see the impact of this on its culinary offer. What you can find in this picturesque city is actually all you ever wanted to taste. From native, Gypsy, vegan, Mediterranean to contemporary Australian cuisine – Melbourne has it all.
Try Gypsy food
If you are looking for some unusual place to check out while you are in a hurry, go for Zingara Cucina, the Gypsy Kitchen locals absolutely love. What is so special about it is that it can be found almost everywhere. There is no set location to this restaurant and its aim is to provide comfort to its clients. It is always on the run, so you can find it in galleries, street parks, bridges and squares. Be sure to try Galletto arrosto con ripieno di verdure and see why everyone is so into this restaurant.
Go for a drink at a Polish restaurant
Those of you who are fond of international cuisine will love the best Polish restaurant in Melbourne After the Tears, 9B Gordon Street, Elsternwick. Try their dumplings and see why the locals enjoy visiting this restaurant. However, there is something you do not want to miss when entering this place. Their drink menu is marvellous so be sure to try the versatile vodkas and wines. If you are not sure which wine to taste you could use wine app that will show you what the best thing to go for is.
Do not be afraid that you will have nowhere to go to have a quick bite of vegan and vegetarian food. Hit 41 Blessington Street, St Kilda to experience the marvellous restaurant called Lentil as Anything. You will be pleased to hear that the whole experience of eating out in this restaurant will be all about helping the community. Not only will you be eco-friendly but you will get to see migrants and refugees work there and help them integrate into their new surroundings. They prepare their own national food and Australian specialties. There is no set price for a dish. You pay as much as you want and leave as high tip as you feel like to. Try vegie lasagne as this their most famous meal.
Go for Australian cuisine
If you feel like tasting what Australian cuisine is all about, you should enter Kings steak and seafood bar. Their seafood platter is great and you can share it with a friend or a partner. You will love the cosy and intimate atmosphere while you are treated like a king, no matter if you are there to stay or just in a hurry.
If you are a fast-paced tourist in Melbourne you will be happy to hear there are a lot of restaurants you can go to have some delicious quick bites. The offer is so versatile that you will have a hard time deciding which one to explore. Try out the gypsy food, some modern Australian cuisine or get a couple of drinks at the best Polish restaurant in Melbourne.

Hi there! I'm Skeeter. I grew up moving a lot and that makes me a bit restless for travel and exploration. I started this blog with my husband Pat when we decided to backpack New Zealand for a year. We are always looking for the next adventure and are loving life. We're just your average couple with two sassy dogs and a love for travel. We're sharing our travels and the tips we pick up along the way.
Hello! I'm Liz. Blogging is very new to me, but I'm so excited to finally write as much as I talk!
