Hello from New Zealand! Things are great here as usual. We needed to get a new WOF (warrenty of fitness ) for Delilah. You have to get one every 6 months for your car. We figured that since she passed 6 months ago, and she is running fine that she would pass again. We figured wrong. The previous owners had covered up a bit of rust in a few spots, and she failed her WOF test for that, and few other miner things. So we had to take her in to a "Panelbeater" to get the body work done. $500 dollars later she is now road worthy again. We also found out that she has a kill switch, which is odd but it will be handy when we are parked out in the middle of no where. Now we can just flip the kill switch when we leave her somewhere, and no one will be able to take off with her. The days are starting to get longer and warmer, and winter is starting to fade here. Although the winter here is so mild that we can hardly complain about the weather. In fact the last couple of days we've been able to lay out on the deck in the sun : ), not too shaby for the middle of winter. It is absolutely beautiful here. Kiwi's realy take pride in the environment. Recenlty there was an article in the paper about how the city of Whitianga needs to take better care of the beach here, and how it isn't up to the standard of a tourist destination. I was shocked, beacause the beach is stunning. We've never seen any garbage on the beach. The only thing you see is sand, seashells and some drift wood washed up from the ocean. But it just goes to show you how serious they are here about keeping the land prestine.
Hi there! I'm Skeeter. I grew up moving a lot and that makes me a bit restless for travel and exploration. I started this blog with my husband Pat when we decided to backpack New Zealand for a year. We are always looking for the next adventure and are loving life. We're just your average couple with two sassy dogs and a love for travel. We're sharing our travels and the tips we pick up along the way.
Hello! I'm Liz. Blogging is very new to me, but I'm so excited to finally write as much as I talk!
