I usually try and share budget travel ideas, but sometimes it's nice to dream big. Here are some places I'd jet off to now if money wasn't an option.
The Seychelles is a 155-island country spanning an archipelago in the Indian Ocean and is beautiful. These islands cater to luxury and attract visitors like Prince William and Kate for their honeymoon. If it's good enough for a princess, then it makes it to my dreamy travel list!
Bora Bora...just look at that hut over the water. You can bet that that's not cheap. And you'd be right, it's around $1,000 per night. I can't even imagine being like "oh, yeah $1,000 a night, no big deal (slaps cash now on counter and turns to walk back to my life in luxury)" Instead, I'm more like that's nearly two month's worth of mortgage payments...I need to make more money!
But hey, we're day dreaming here, so no more of that!
Gstaad, Switzerland. If beaches aren't really your idea of fun (then I'm afraid we can't be friends) Just kidding, but really...then Gstaad, Sqitzerland might be your kind of luxury destination. "Synonymous with the international jet set, this Swiss wintertime resort appears smaller than its lionized reputation. Renowned as a haunt of Bond actors, Euro royalty, heirs and various hangers-on, Gstaad is a picturesque but tiny village crouched beneath the hilltop turrets of its pre-eminent hotel, the undeniably palatial Gstaad Palace." (lonely planet) That sounds cool to me. Apparently the skiing isn't that great there, but if shmoozing in the lodge is more your thing (which it is mine), then you should be doing great. I actually had to double check the price because I couldn't believe it, but for the penthouse it's going to run you $11,091 PER NIGHT! If you are reading this and can afford that, can I please be your personal travel assistant?
Want to travel in luxury, but don't want to stay in one place? Try the Côte d'Azur, France, also known as the French Riviera. This coastline includes the fabulously beautiful cities of Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo. You can shop, eat gourmet food, and gamble like James Bond. Apparently hiring a private yacht is the way to truly do it in style. I'm convinced.
Where are your dreamy travel destinations?
Hi there! I'm Skeeter. I grew up moving a lot and that makes me a bit restless for travel and exploration. I started this blog with my husband Pat when we decided to backpack New Zealand for a year. We are always looking for the next adventure and are loving life. We're just your average couple with two sassy dogs and a love for travel. We're sharing our travels and the tips we pick up along the way.
Hello! I'm Liz. Blogging is very new to me, but I'm so excited to finally write as much as I talk!
