Seek Adventure Travel Happy
Is it Friday already? I hope you've got some fun plans for the weekend. Pat and I have a pretty full schedule of exploring beaches, waterfalls, and finding some good food...life is tough on the coast. And before you start the think "Geez, those guys are jerks, not everyone can head to the beach on the weekend." Take a second to think of all the things within a short drive of your home that you haven't done yet. Maybe you're not a short drive from the beach, but there's a float trip you could take, or a hike you could try, or just a drive for some awesome milk shakes that could make the weekend a lot of fun on a budget.
Pat and I were just talking last night about how easy it is to put off doing all the fun stuff that's in your backyard because it will be there next weekend, and you have other "more important" stuff to do. But before you know it, 10 years has gone by and you've never taken that trip that's only 30 minutes away.
...end rant... Back to the Friday Travel Deal! If you've saved up some vacation time, here are some trips you could take to get out of that 9-5 rut.
1. Dominican Republic! You can fly from New York (Newark) to Santo Domingo on November 3rd, and return on the 17th for only $236 round-trip with Spirit Airlines (found on Skyscanner). The Dominican Republic has great beaches, jungles, a rich history, and tons to do. If November seems like a good time to hit the warm beaches, soak up some sun, and try your hand at surfing, then this might be the trip for you.
2. New York City! You can fly from Jacksonville to NYC (JFK) on September 9th, and return on the 17th for $166 round trip with JetBlue (found on skyscanner). So, last year I took my first trip the NYC, it was a blast. I mean, it would be ridiculous for me to even try and list all the things you can do here. Some of my favorites though, in no particular order: Going to see Jimmy Fallon (it was awesome), Central Park, the amazing food, all the museums were fantastic, really I could go on and on, and I was only there for 5 days.
I hope you all have had an amazing week!
Thanksgiving is only about 3 months away, which means if you want to plan a trip, now is a good time to start scoping out prices. Planning ahead is my best tip for saving money on your trip.
Thanks for stopping by, and happy travels!
Hi there! I'm Skeeter. I grew up moving a lot and that makes me a bit restless for travel and exploration. I started this blog with my husband Pat when we decided to backpack New Zealand for a year. We are always looking for the next adventure and are loving life. We're just your average couple with two sassy dogs and a love for travel. We're sharing our travels and the tips we pick up along the way.
Hello! I'm Liz. Blogging is very new to me, but I'm so excited to finally write as much as I talk!
